Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Plantations, Healthcare and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.61% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which rose 24.26% or 12.30 points to trade at 63.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) added 12.84% or 6.10 points to end at 53.60 and Galadari Hotels Lanka PLC (CM:GHLL) was up 12.15% or 1.30 points to 12.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS), which fell 11.50% or 1.30 points to trade at 10.00 at the close. Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) declined 10.99% or 10.50 points to end at 85.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 100 to 74 and 53 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.00% or 0.48 to $48.72 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 1.02% or 0.51 to hit $50.70 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.25% or 3.25 to trade at $1320.35 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.88% to 188.800, while USD/LKR fell 0.54% to 145.970.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.03% at 95.41.
