Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Services and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.57%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX), which rose 23.70% or 10.90 points to trade at 56.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 24.20% or 20.50 points to trade at 64.20 at the close. Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) declined 13.59% or 126.00 points to end at 801.00 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 13.47% or 10.90 points to 70.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 132 to 53 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; rising 20.00% or 0.100 to 0.600. Shares in Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) fell to 5-year lows; losing 13.59% or 126.00 to 801.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.35% or 0.24 to $68.77 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.21% or 0.16 to hit $76.45 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.40% or 4.90 to trade at $1209.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.14% to 208.070, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 161.390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.13% at 94.75.
