Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Plantations and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.55% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR), which rose 75.00% or 0.900 points to trade at 2.100 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 40.00% or 0.200 points to end at 0.700 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 33.33% or 0.300 points to 1.200 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Office Equipment PLC (CM:OFEQ), which fell 21.39% or 14.50 points to trade at 53.30 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 17.64% or 69.60 points to end at 325.00 and Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) was down 14.15% or 1.50 points to 9.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 117 to 64 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) rose to 52-week highs; rising 75.00% or 0.900 to 2.100. Shares in Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH) fell to all time lows; falling 14.15% or 1.50 to 9.10.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.78% or 0.48 to $61.31 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.69% or 0.45 to hit $65.06 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.80 to trade at $1312.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.31% to 214.030, while USD/LKR fell 0.12% to 154.490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 90.35.
