Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Commercial Leasing & Finance PLC (CM:COLE), which rose 25.00% or 0.500 points to trade at 2.500 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 24.80% or 6.10 points to 30.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was down 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 140 to 41 and 43 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) fell to all time lows; down 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100. Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 5-year lows; rising 25.00% or 0.1000 to 0.5000.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.66% or 0.46 to $69.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.70% or 0.54 to hit $78.00 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.90 to trade at $1210.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.21% to 210.300, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 161.490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 94.49.
