Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Plantations, Beverages & Tobacco and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.51% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) added 22.73% or 1.50 points to end at 8.10 and Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) was up 22.01% or 3.50 points to 19.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) declined 13.28% or 6.60 points to end at 43.10 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 11.11% or 0.100 points to 0.800.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 114 to 82 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; falling 50.00% or 0.1000 to 0.1000. Shares in Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) rose to 52-week highs; up 22.73% or 1.50 to 8.10. Shares in Madulsima Plantations PLC (CM:MADU) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 22.01% or 3.50 to 19.40.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 1.53% or 0.79 to $50.88 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 1.43% or 0.81 to hit $55.98 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.60% or 7.76 to trade at $1277.04 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.71% to 203.600, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.54% at 93.41.
