Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.47% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 24.89% or 17.50 points to end at 87.80 and Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) was up 21.05% or 0.400 points to 2.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 21.91% or 490.70 points to trade at 1749.00 at the close. EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) declined 14.17% or 190.00 points to end at 1150.50 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 12.50% or 0.1000 points to 0.7000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 128 to 77 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; up 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) rose to all time highs; gaining 24.89% or 17.50 to 87.80. Shares in Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) rose to 3-years highs; gaining 21.05% or 0.400 to 2.300.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 1.13% or 0.56 to $49.91 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.16% or 0.61 to hit $53.12 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.18 to trade at $1252.62 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.24% to 198.150, while USD/LKR fell 0.15% to 152.460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.39% at 97.39.
