Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Information Technology and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.46%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hayleys Fibre PLC (CM:HEXP), which rose 37.95% or 25.20 points to trade at 91.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) added 21.31% or 14.00 points to end at 79.70 and Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) was up 14.83% or 96.50 points to 747.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING), which fell 23.33% or 21.00 points to trade at 69.00 at the close. Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) declined 11.09% or 149.70 points to end at 1200.10 and Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) was down 9.52% or 158.00 points to 1501.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 125 to 63 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hayleys Fibre PLC (CM:HEXP) rose to all time highs; up 37.95% or 25.20 to 91.60.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 1.94% or 0.87 to $45.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 2.34% or 1.08 to hit $47.33 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.33% or 4.45 to trade at $1352.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.06% to 189.090, while USD/LKR fell 0.05% to 145.660.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.35% at 96.24.
