Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Power & Energy and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.45%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Chilaw Finance PLC (CM:CHIL), which rose 10.53% or 2.00 points to trade at 21.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) added 9.81% or 17.20 points to end at 192.50 and Citrus Leisure PLC (CM:REEF) was up 8.57% or 0.90 points to 11.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which fell 12.50% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.40 at the close. Colombo City Holdings PLC (CM:PHAR) declined 8.84% or 87.30 points to end at 900.10 and Hemas Power PLC (CM:HPWR) was down 5.65% or 1.30 points to 21.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 120 to 48 and 45 ended unchanged.
Shares in Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK) fell to all time lows; losing 12.50% or 0.20 to 1.40.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 1.54% or 0.72 to $45.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 1.52% or 0.73 to hit $47.41 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.71% or 9.15 to trade at $1297.15 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.22% to 180.615, while USD/LKR fell 0.33% to 147.555.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.27% at 97.50.
