Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Palm Oil, Diversified Holdings and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.45% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Bukit Darah PLC (CM:BUKI) added 22.68% or 49.90 points to end at 269.90 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was up 20.00% or 0.1000 points to 0.6000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 17.47% or 301.60 points to trade at 1425.00 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 12.79% or 4.40 points to end at 30.00 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 116 to 63 and 52 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for March delivery was down 1.03% or 0.63 to $60.52 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.66% or 0.43 to hit $64.38 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.10% or 1.30 to trade at $1317.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.08% to 214.775, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 154.320.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.01% at 90.20.
