Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Motors, Trading and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.44%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) added 25.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.000 and Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) was up 18.73% or 323.40 points to 2050.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 24.80% or 354.50 points to trade at 1075.10 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 13.78% or 43.40 points to end at 271.60 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was down 8.33% or 0.100 points to 1.100.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 145 to 47 and 40 ended unchanged.
Shares in Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO) fell to 3-years lows; down 24.80% or 354.50 to 1075.10.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.32% or 0.15 to $47.24 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.24% or 0.12 to hit $51.15 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 8.06 to trade at $1300.46 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.08% to 197.705, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 153.310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 93.43.
