Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.43%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) was up 23.68% or 9.00 points to 47.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 13.19% or 197.60 points to trade at 1300.00 at the close. Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) declined 6.98% or 1.50 points to end at 20.00 and Summit Finance PLC (CM:PRIM) was down 6.74% or 1.30 points to 18.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 118 to 51 and 48 ended unchanged.
Shares in Summit Finance PLC (CM:PRIM) fell to 3-years lows; falling 6.74% or 1.30 to 18.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.84% or 0.59 to $70.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.43% or 1.05 to hit $74.45 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1243.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.10% to 210.650, while USD/LKR fell 0.14% to 159.390.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 94.58.
