Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Information Technology and Trading sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.42%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 134.50 at the close. Meanwhile, PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and John Keells PLC (CM:JKL) was up 12.73% or 7.00 points to 62.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which fell 22.86% or 267.90 points to trade at 904.10 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 21.99% or 297.10 points to end at 1054.00 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) was down 12.31% or 3.30 points to 23.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 110 to 73 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) fell to 5-year lows; falling 22.86% or 267.90 to 904.10. Shares in PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) rose to all time lows; gaining 20.00% or 0.100 to 0.600. Shares in Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) fell to 52-week lows; down 21.99% or 297.10 to 1054.00. Shares in Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) fell to 52-week lows; losing 12.31% or 3.30 to 23.50.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.13% or 0.09 to $71.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.51% or 0.40 to hit $78.03 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1290.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.19% to 213.210, while USD/LKR rose 0.11% to 158.290.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.41.
