Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Services, Footwear & Textile and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.38% to hit a new 52-week high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which rose 25.00% or 166.90 points to trade at 834.60 at the close. Meanwhile, J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) added 18.56% or 78.90 points to end at 504.00 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 15.91% or 6.70 points to 48.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.100 at the close. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 24.07% or 3250.00 points to end at 10250.00 and Agalawatte Plantations PLC (CM:AGAL) was down 12.37% or 2.40 points to 17.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 115 to 75 and 61 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; falling 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.30% or 0.13 to $43.38 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.41% or 0.19 to hit $45.83 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 4.98 to trade at $1248.48 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.01% to 193.465, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 153.250.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 97.35.
