Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Power & Energy, Information Technology and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.37%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 25.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. Meanwhile, Mercantile Shipping Company PLC (CM:MSL) added 23.24% or 15.80 points to end at 83.80 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 18.50% or 3.70 points to 23.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH), which fell 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) declined 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) was down 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 126 to 47 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 5-year lows; rising 25.00% or 0.1000 to 0.5000. Shares in PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) fell to all time lows; falling 25.00% or 0.100 to 0.300. Shares in Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) fell to all time lows; falling 14.29% or 0.100 to 0.600. Shares in Nation Lanka Finance PLC (CM:CSF) fell to all time lows; down 12.50% or 0.100 to 0.700.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.21% or 0.16 to $76.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.29% or 0.25 to hit $86.04 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.50 to trade at $1202.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.07% to 220.825, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 169.990.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 95.55.
