Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Healthcare and Services sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.36% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT), which rose 14.00% or 14.00 points to trade at 114.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Hayleys Fibre PLC (CM:HEXP) added 13.50% or 7.60 points to end at 63.90 and EB Creasy and Company PLC (CM:EBCR) was up 12.48% or 149.80 points to 1350.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 22.31% or 580.10 points to trade at 2020.00 at the close. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 12.69% or 268.80 points to end at 1850.00 and Standard Capital PLC (CM:SING) was down 11.00% or 9.90 points to 80.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 119 to 70 and 45 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.07% or 0.03 to $44.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.64% or 0.29 to hit $45.81 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.84% or 10.60 to trade at $1275.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 210.695, while USD/LKR fell 0.07% to 145.795.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.16% at 94.07.
