Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.35%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Waskaduwa Beach Resort PLC (CM:CITW), which rose 35.85% or 1.90 points to trade at 7.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Kalpitiya Beach Resort PLC (CM:CITK) added 22.58% or 0.70 points to end at 3.80 and PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) was up 20.00% or 0.20 points to 1.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Namunukula Plantations PLC (CM:NAMU) declined 19.74% or 15.00 points to end at 61.00 and Property Development PLC (CM:PDL) was down 9.09% or 8.50 points to 85.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 125 to 78 and 22 ended unchanged.
Shares in Namunukula Plantations PLC (CM:NAMU) fell to 52-week lows; falling 19.74% or 15.00 to 61.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.57% or 0.33 to $56.60 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.61% or 0.38 to hit $61.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract rose 0.36% or 4.20 to trade at $1167.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 208.395, while USD/LKR fell 0.13% to 133.505.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.18% at 96.11.
