Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which rose 18.53% or 9.30 points to trade at 59.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR) added 10.20% or 0.500 points to end at 5.400 and Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) was up 9.26% or 3.90 points to 46.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL), which fell 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Singhe Hospitals Ltd (CM:SIGH) declined 9.52% or 0.200 points to end at 1.900 and Dolphin Hotels PLC (CM:STAF) was down 8.84% or 3.20 points to 33.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 141 to 55 and 47 ended unchanged.
Shares in Taprobane Holdings PLC (CM:TAPR) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 10.20% or 0.500 to 5.400.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 3.10% or 1.41 to $44.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 2.99% or 1.44 to hit $46.67 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.20% or 2.46 to trade at $1220.84 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.37% to 198.415, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 153.690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 95.77.
