Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Services, Information Technology and Palm Oil sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.34%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Janashakthi Insurance Company PLC (CM:JINS), which rose 29.36% or 6.40 points to trade at 28.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) added 19.33% or 4.60 points to end at 28.40 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 18.92% or 16.80 points to trade at 72.00 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 12.00% or 10.80 points to 79.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 117 to 61 and 52 ended unchanged.
Shares in Janashakthi Insurance Company PLC (CM:JINS) rose to all time highs; up 29.36% or 6.40 to 28.20. Shares in PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) fell to all time lows; down 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.500.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.09% or 0.06 to $65.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.14% or 0.10 to hit $69.55 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.06% or 0.80 to trade at $1347.10 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.17% to 219.215, while USD/LKR rose 0.05% to 154.190.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.27% at 88.72.
