Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Plantations, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV), which rose 28.12% or 1.800 points to trade at 8.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY) added 24.49% or 12.00 points to end at 61.00 and Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC (CM:CFLB) was up 24.35% or 4.70 points to 24.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 50.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.1000 at the close. PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) declined 50.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.100 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was down 16.67% or 0.200 points to 1.000.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 117 to 54 and 58 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lankem Developments PLC (CM:LDEV) rose to 52-week highs; up 28.12% or 1.800 to 8.200. Shares in PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) fell to all time lows; down 50.00% or 0.1000 to 0.1000. Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) fell to all time lows; losing 50.00% or 0.100 to 0.100. Shares in Colombo Fort Land & Building PLC (CM:CFLB) rose to 52-week highs; up 24.35% or 4.70 to 24.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.06% or 0.03 to $49.92 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.18% or 0.10 to hit $55.57 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.04% or 0.47 to trade at $1328.83 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 1.41% to 207.720, while USD/LKR rose 0.03% to 152.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 91.86.
