Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Land & Property and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 100.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 12.50% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.9000 and Dunamis Capital PLC (CM:CSEC) was up 9.35% or 2.30 points to 26.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Indo Malay PLC (CM:INDO), which fell 22.50% or 321.60 points to trade at 1108.00 at the close. Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) declined 13.11% or 9.10 points to end at 60.30 and Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) was down 12.90% or 199.90 points to 1350.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 104 to 74 and 63 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 52-week highs; rising 12.50% or 0.1000 to 0.9000.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 2.14% or 0.95 to $43.48 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.13% or 1.00 to hit $45.91 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.07% or 0.82 to trade at $1247.52 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.09% to 195.915, while USD/LKR rose 0.59% to 153.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 97.29.
