Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Information Technology and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.32%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV), which rose 25.00% or 85.00 points to trade at 425.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Renuka City Hotel PLC (CM:RENU) added 24.96% or 71.10 points to end at 356.00 and East West Properties PLC (CM:EAST) was up 21.43% or 2.70 points to 15.30 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which fell 18.94% or 222.00 points to trade at 950.00 at the close. Kahawatte Plantations PLC (CM:KAHA) declined 12.50% or 5.00 points to end at 35.00 and Autodrome PLC (CM:AUTO) was down 8.63% or 6.90 points to 73.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 100 to 75 and 56 ended unchanged.
Shares in AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) rose to 5-year highs; up 25.00% or 85.00 to 425.00. Shares in Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD) fell to 5-year lows; falling 18.94% or 222.00 to 950.00. Shares in Renuka City Hotel PLC (CM:RENU) rose to 52-week highs; up 24.96% or 71.10 to 356.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.58% or 0.35 to $60.95 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.12% or 0.08 to hit $64.44 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.20 to trade at $1356.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.48% to 218.165, while USD/LKR fell 0.33% to 155.070.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.33% at 88.62.
