Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Motors and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.31%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lankem Ceylon PLC (CM:LCEY), which rose 17.52% or 7.20 points to trade at 48.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Convenience Foods (Lanka) PLC (CM:SOY) was up 11.97% or 40.10 points to 375.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Dankotuwa Porcelain PLC (CM:DPL), which fell 9.09% or 0.80 points to trade at 8.00 at the close. Sierra Cables PLC (CM:SIRA) declined 7.14% or 0.200 points to end at 2.600 and Chemanex PLC (CM:CHMX) was down 4.96% or 2.80 points to 53.70.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 109 to 67 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in Sierra Cables PLC (CM:SIRA) fell to 3-years lows; falling 7.14% or 0.200 to 2.600.
Crude oil for December delivery was down 0.14% or 0.08 to $55.25 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 0.24% or 0.15 to hit $61.72 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.04% or 0.51 to trade at $1278.21 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.11% to 202.690, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 153.690.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.12% at 93.83.
