Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Palm Oil and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.30%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO), which rose 30.00% or 9.90 points to trade at 42.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Ceylon Beverage Holdings PLC (CM:BREW) added 13.80% or 69.00 points to end at 569.00 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) was up 13.61% or 14.60 points to 121.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 24.07% or 356.70 points to trade at 1125.00 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 7.14% or 0.100 points to end at 1.300 and Bansei Royal Resorts Hikkaduwa Limited (CM:BANS) was down 6.25% or 0.50 points to 7.50.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 90 to 67 and 66 ended unchanged.
Shares in ASCOT Holdings PLC (CM:ASCO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 30.00% or 9.90 to 42.90.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.77% or 0.40 to $52.30 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.82% or 0.47 to hit $57.84 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.07% or 0.84 to trade at $1280.06 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.12% to 202.640, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 153.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.75.
