Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Information Technology and Investment Trust sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which rose 24.52% or 423.40 points to trade at 2150.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) added 22.01% or 242.60 points to end at 1344.90 and Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) was up 18.91% or 18.70 points to 117.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 12.98% or 204.90 points to trade at 1374.00 at the close. Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL) declined 12.60% or 9.40 points to end at 65.20 and Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL) was down 12.50% or 0.100 points to 0.700.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 122 to 73 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) rose to 52-week highs; rising 18.91% or 18.70 to 117.60.
Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.99% or 0.99 to $48.67 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 2.09% or 1.09 to hit $51.15 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.18% or 2.30 to trade at $1264.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.03% to 196.515, while USD/LKR rose 0.09% to 152.970.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.14% at 97.08.
