Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Palm Oil and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Paragon Ceylon PLC (CM:PARA), which rose 13.03% or 6.80 points to trade at 59.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) added 11.11% or 34.00 points to end at 340.00 and Lanka Ashok Leyland PLC (CM:ASHO) was up 10.80% or 135.00 points to 1385.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB), which fell 11.33% or 16.00 points to trade at 125.20 at the close. Namal Acuity (CM:NAMA) declined 7.50% or 6.90 points to end at 85.10 and Browns Investments PLC (CM:BROW) was down 7.14% or 0.100 points to 1.300.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 83 to 73 and 63 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.67% or 0.34 to $50.86 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.49% or 0.25 to hit $51.71 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.42% or 5.35 to trade at $1269.05 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.05% to 179.995, while USD/LKR rose 0.20% to 147.225.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.11% at 98.75.
