Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Information Technology, Beverages & Tobacco and Land & Property sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.29%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) added 16.04% or 9.40 points to end at 68.00 and Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) was up 12.24% or 12.00 points to 110.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Central Investments and Finance PLC (CM:CIFL), which fell 10.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.900 at the close. Eden Hotel Lanka PLC (CM:EDEN) declined 8.12% or 1.90 points to end at 21.50 and Serendib Hotels PLC (CM:SHOT) was down 7.40% or 2.90 points to 36.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 138 to 98 and 14 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hotel Sigiriya PLC (CM:HSIG) rose to all time highs; rising 12.24% or 12.00 to 110.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.62% or 0.26 to $41.06 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.82% or 0.38 to hit $46.24 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.09% or 1.00 to trade at $1152.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.31% to 209.145, while USD/LKR fell 0.58% to 133.305.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.33% at 95.46.
