Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.22%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Ceylon Hotels Corporation PLC (CM:CHOT), which rose 1000.00% or 16.45 points to trade at 17.20 at the close. Meanwhile, PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH) added 100.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.2000 and Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) was up 17.78% or 0.800 points to 5.300 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH), which fell 17.33% or 52.00 points to trade at 248.00 at the close. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) declined 16.67% or 0.200 points to end at 1.000 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) was down 10.85% or 49.90 points to 410.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 95 to 85 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) fell to 3-years lows; losing 17.33% or 52.00 to 248.00. Shares in Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC (CM:CEYL) rose to 52-week highs; up 17.78% or 0.800 to 5.300.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 1.07% or 0.56 to $52.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 0.54% or 0.31 to hit $57.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.03% or 0.40 to trade at $1288.20 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was unchanged 0.00% to 205.160, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 153.220.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.11.
