Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Stores & Supplies, Beverages & Tobacco and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which rose 24.90% or 6.50 points to trade at 32.60 at the close. Meanwhile, Hunter & Company PLC (CM:HUNT) added 22.33% or 89.80 points to end at 491.90 and Kelani Cables PLC (CM:KCAB) was up 18.75% or 15.00 points to 95.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Printcare PLC (CM:CARE), which fell 22.41% or 7.80 points to trade at 27.00 at the close. Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) declined 11.14% or 3.90 points to end at 31.10 and Fortress Resorts Plc (CM:RHTL) was down 10.91% or 1.20 points to 9.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 108 to 72 and 59 ended unchanged.
Shares in Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) rose to 3-years lows; gaining 24.90% or 6.50 to 32.60. Shares in Printcare PLC (CM:CARE) fell to 3-years lows; losing 22.41% or 7.80 to 27.00. Shares in Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) fell to 52-week lows; losing 11.14% or 3.90 to 31.10.
Crude oil for August delivery was down 0.23% or 0.17 to $73.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 1.11% or 0.86 to hit $78.47 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.08% or 1.00 to trade at $1252.00 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.34% to 207.975, while USD/LKR rose 0.01% to 158.310.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.43% at 94.59.
