Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Banking, Financials & Insurance and Information Technology sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.20% to hit a new 1-month high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Trade Finance & Investments PLC (CM:TFIL) added 22.46% or 8.40 points to end at 45.80 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 15.38% or 4.00 points to 30.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Amana Takaful Life Ltd (CM:ANTK), which fell 14.29% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.20 at the close. Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) declined 10.93% or 5.90 points to end at 48.10 and Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA) was down 10.32% or 1.60 points to 13.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 109 to 72 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tangerine Beach Hotels PLC (CM:TANG) fell to 5-year lows; falling 10.93% or 5.90 to 48.10.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.40% or 0.20 to $50.22 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December fell 0.36% or 0.20 to hit $55.80 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.33% or 4.17 to trade at $1282.07 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.33% to 203.740, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 153.340.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.30% at 93.14.
