Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Investment Trust and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.20%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI), which rose 9.81% or 17.20 points to trade at 192.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Guardian Capital Partners PLC (CM:WAPO) added 6.50% or 2.60 points to end at 42.60 and Millennium Housing Developers PLC (CM:MHDL) was up 5.97% or 0.40 points to 7.10 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL), which fell 12.54% or 7.90 points to trade at 55.10 at the close. Ceylon Hospitals PLC (CM:CHL) declined 9.75% or 10.60 points to end at 98.10 and C W Mackie PLC (CM:CWM) was down 6.67% or 3.80 points to 53.20.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 74 to 57 and 54 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for December delivery was up 0.79% or 0.36 to $45.70 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in January rose 0.85% or 0.40 to hit $47.26 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 1.10% or 14.35 to trade at $1293.85 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.09% to 182.355, while USD/LKR fell 0.04% to 148.025.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.14% at 97.25.
