Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Services, Footwear & Textile and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.17%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which rose 20.00% or 0.20 points to trade at 1.20 at the close. Meanwhile, Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) added 19.40% or 3.90 points to end at 24.00 and F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) was up 10.00% or 0.100 points to 1.100 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which fell 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.5000 at the close. City Housing and Real Estate Company PLC (CM:CHOU) declined 13.04% or 0.90 points to end at 6.00 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 11.02% or 2.80 points to 22.60.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 67 and 44 ended unchanged.
Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) fell to 5-year lows; down 16.67% or 0.1000 to 0.5000. Shares in Elpitiya Plantations PLC (CM:ELPL) rose to 52-week highs; gaining 19.40% or 3.90 to 24.00. Shares in City Housing and Real Estate Company PLC (CM:CHOU) fell to 5-year lows; down 13.04% or 0.90 to 6.00.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.81% or 0.43 to $53.36 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April rose 0.95% or 0.53 to hit $56.12 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.40% or 4.85 to trade at $1230.65 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.39% to 187.680, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 150.610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.13% at 100.87.
