Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Land & Property and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.16%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 24.32% or 234.70 points to trade at 1199.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Muller & Phipps PLC (CM:MULL) added 20.00% or 0.200 points to end at 1.200 and Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) was up 19.86% or 28.00 points to 169.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Leather Products PLC (CM:CLPL), which fell 14.04% or 9.80 points to trade at 60.00 at the close. PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) declined 10.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Tea Smallholder Factories PLC (CM:TSML) was down 8.38% or 3.20 points to 35.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 99 to 74 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Lanka Ceramic PLC (CM:CERA) rose to all time highs; rising 19.86% or 28.00 to 169.00.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.50% or 0.25 to $49.81 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.76% or 0.40 to hit $53.10 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.57 to trade at $1285.87 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.03% to 199.130, while USD/LKR fell 0.03% to 153.200.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 93.60.
