Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Healthcare sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 15.38% or 2.00 points to trade at 15.00 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 14.29% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.8000 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) was up 12.93% or 1.90 points to 16.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 19.69% or 291.70 points to trade at 1190.00 at the close. Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ) declined 13.66% or 5.30 points to end at 33.50 and Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:CONN) was down 13.02% or 7.80 points to 52.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 85 to 79 and 59 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for October delivery was up 0.65% or 0.32 to $49.62 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 0.60% or 0.33 to hit $55.49 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.13% or 1.73 to trade at $1329.73 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.18% to 201.890, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 152.900.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.06% at 92.33.
