Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Investment Trust and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.14%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which rose 23.07% or 141.50 points to trade at 754.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) added 21.52% or 322.30 points to end at 1819.90 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was up 18.76% or 78.80 points to 498.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which fell 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. Trans Asia Hotels PLC (CM:TRAN) declined 10.53% or 10.00 points to end at 85.00 and Lee Hedges PLC (CM:SHAW) was down 8.12% or 6.90 points to 78.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 74 and 66 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to 52-week lows; losing 11.11% or 0.100 to 0.800.
Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.31% or 0.21 to $67.98 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in June fell 0.24% or 0.18 to hit $74.56 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.50 to trade at $1320.40 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.91% to 217.505, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 157.710.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.20% at 91.57.
