Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Palm Oil and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.13% to hit a new 3-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Huejay International Investments PLC (CM:HUEJ), which rose 24.13% or 10.40 points to trade at 53.50 at the close. Meanwhile, F L C Holdings PLC (CM:FREE) added 18.18% or 0.20 points to end at 1.30 and Kotagala Plantations PLC (CM:KOTA) was up 12.94% or 2.60 points to 22.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO), which fell 23.06% or 599.70 points to trade at 2000.40 at the close. Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND) declined 19.77% or 418.80 points to end at 1700.00 and SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) was down 11.11% or 0.10 points to 0.80.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 98 to 76 and 55 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.18% or 0.08 to $45.41 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.19% or 0.09 to hit $47.02 a barrel, while the June Gold contract rose 0.66% or 8.20 to trade at $1258.60 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.55% to 212.455, while USD/LKR fell 0.10% to 146.110.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.65% at 93.77.
