Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Trading, Construction & Engineering and Diversified Holdings sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.13%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 16.67% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 1.000 and Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) was up 11.11% or 0.100 points to 1.000 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT), which fell 16.16% or 11.20 points to trade at 58.10 at the close. Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) declined 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.700 and Pegasus Hotels of Ceylon PLC (CM:PEG) was down 10.71% or 3.30 points to 27.50.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 90 to 90 and 54 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for April delivery was up 0.38% or 0.23 to $61.42 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in May rose 0.20% or 0.13 to hit $65.25 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.90 to trade at $1320.70 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.14% to 217.845, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 156.020.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 89.93.
