Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 25.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Meanwhile, Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:RNUK) added 14.89% or 0.70 points to end at 5.40 and Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) was up 14.49% or 4.10 points to 32.40 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Serendib Land PLC (CM:SLND), which fell 19.01% or 281.70 points to trade at 1200.00 at the close. Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL) declined 11.27% or 5.60 points to end at 44.10 and Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU) was down 10.00% or 0.100 points to 0.900.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 96 to 88 and 64 ended unchanged.
Shares in Hapugastenne Plantations PLC (CM:HAPU) rose to 52-week highs; up 14.49% or 4.10 to 32.40.
Crude oil for November delivery was down 0.32% or 0.16 to $50.28 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 0.25% or 0.14 to hit $55.48 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.48% or 6.31 to trade at $1318.89 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.13% to 207.315, while USD/LKR rose 0.11% to 153.070.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 91.69.
