Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Telecoms, Land & Property and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) added 20.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.600 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which fell 12.50% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.700 at the close. Amaya Leisure PLC (CM:CONN) declined 9.53% or 4.70 points to end at 44.60 and Renuka Shaw Wallace PLC (CM:COCO) was down 8.67% or 1.30 points to 13.70.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 81 to 75 and 55 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; up 20.00% or 0.100 to 0.600. Shares in Renuka Shaw Wallace PLC (CM:COCO) fell to 5-year lows; down 8.67% or 1.30 to 13.70.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.26% or 0.18 to $68.78 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.26% or 0.19 to hit $73.26 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.30% or 3.60 to trade at $1216.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.25% to 207.610, while USD/LKR rose 0.04% to 159.760.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.08% at 95.08.
