Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Telecoms, Services and Footwear & Textile sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.12%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Kelsey Developments PLC (CM:KDL), which rose 15.26% or 5.80 points to trade at 43.80 at the close. Meanwhile, Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) added 12.50% or 0.100 points to end at 0.900 and Richard Pieris Exports PLC (CM:REXP) was up 9.55% or 17.00 points to 195.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which fell 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Industrial Asphalts (Ceylon) PLC (CM:ASPH) declined 21.16% or 83.50 points to end at 311.10 and Ceylon Printers PLC (CM:CPRT) was down 20.95% or 18.60 points to 70.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 93 to 71 and 66 ended unchanged.
Shares in Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) fell to all time lows; down 33.33% or 0.100 to 0.200.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.72% or 0.47 to $66.08 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.44% or 0.31 to hit $70.84 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.19% or 2.60 to trade at $1358.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.51% to 219.410, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.740.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 88.93.
