Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Information Technology, Plantations and Construction & Engineering sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.10% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Meanwhile, Regnis Lanka PLC (CM:REG) added 22.48% or 34.30 points to end at 186.90 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was up 12.49% or 154.90 points to 1394.90 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which fell 9.09% or 0.10 points to trade at 1.00 at the close. Dipped Products PLC (CM:DIPD) declined 7.19% or 11.50 points to end at 148.50 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was down 7.14% or 0.10 points to 1.30.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 134 to 100 and 11 ended unchanged.
Shares in Regnis Lanka PLC (CM:REG) rose to 3-years highs; up 22.48% or 34.30 to 186.90. Shares in Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) rose to 52-week highs; up 12.49% or 154.90 to 1394.90.
Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.15% or 0.07 to $43.94 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.75% or 0.37 to hit $49.61 a barrel, while the December Gold contract fell 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1093.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.59% to 206.310, while USD/LKR fell 0.31% to 133.335.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.28% at 97.93.
