Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Telecoms, Trading and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.10%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT), which unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to trade at 134.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) added 24.82% or 10.20 points to end at 51.30 and Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) was up 23.04% or 141.30 points to 754.70 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Beruwala Resorts PLC (CM:BERU), which fell 11.11% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.800 at the close. York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) declined 10.80% or 10.80 points to end at 89.20 and Malwatte Valley Plantations PLC (CM:MAL) was down 8.89% or 0.800 points to 8.200.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 99 to 72 and 72 ended unchanged.
Shares in York Arcade Holdings PLC (CM:YORK) fell to 52-week lows; down 10.80% or 10.80 to 89.20.
Crude oil for July delivery was up 0.25% or 0.18 to $72.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 0.47% or 0.37 to hit $79.59 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.22% or 2.90 to trade at $1293.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.41% to 212.595, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 157.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.17% at 93.30.
