Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Investment Trust, Plantations and Beverages & Tobacco sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.09% to hit a new 6-months high.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM), which rose 23.88% or 1.60 points to trade at 8.30 at the close. Meanwhile, Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) added 14.13% or 26.00 points to end at 210.00 and Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) was up 13.72% or 11.70 points to 97.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PC House PLC (CM:PCHO), which fell 33.33% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.200 at the close. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 14.07% or 1900.000 points to end at 11600.000 and Union Chemicals Lanka PLC (CM:UCHE) was down 9.81% or 51.10 points to 470.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 139 to 88 and 10 ended unchanged.
Shares in Arpico Finance Company PLC (CM:ARPI) rose to all time highs; gaining 14.13% or 26.00 to 210.00. Shares in Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) fell to 52-week lows; down 14.07% or 1900.000 to 11600.000. Shares in Bimputh Finance PLC (CM:BIMP) rose to all time highs; rising 13.72% or 11.70 to 97.00.
Crude oil for October delivery was down 0.51% or 0.21 to $42.20 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.44% or 0.21 to hit $48.52 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.13% or 1.40 to trade at $1119.80 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.26% to 209.050, while USD/LKR rose 0.07% to 134.180.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.00% at 96.84.
