Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Trading, Construction & Engineering and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.09%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) unchanged 0.00% or 0.0000 points to end at 0.5000 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD), which fell 21.17% or 2712.50 points to trade at 10100.00 at the close. Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) declined 16.67% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) was down 15.68% or 6.90 points to 37.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 81 to 75 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) fell to 5-year lows; losing 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.500.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $67.61 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.07% or 0.05 to hit $72.34 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.09% or 1.10 to trade at $1226.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.24% to 208.780, while USD/LKR rose 0.06% to 159.610.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 94.73.
