Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Information Technology, Diversified Holdings and Power & Energy sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) added 100.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.200 and J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) was up 23.15% or 98.70 points to 525.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL), which fell 30.15% or 8.20 points to trade at 19.00 at the close. Swadeshi Industrial Works PLC (CM:SWAD) declined 24.07% or 3250.00 points to end at 10250.00 and Kalamazoo Systems PLC (CM:KZOO) was down 16.46% or 138.90 points to 705.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 103 to 86 and 53 ended unchanged.
Shares in PC House PLC (CM:PCHO) rose to 52-week highs; rising 100.00% or 0.100 to 0.200. Shares in J L Morison Sons & Jones (Ceylon) PLC (CM:MORI) rose to all time highs; rising 23.15% or 98.70 to 525.00.
Crude oil for August delivery was up 0.83% or 0.37 to $45.11 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.76% or 0.36 to hit $47.90 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.14% or 1.72 to trade at $1247.38 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.29% to 198.925, while USD/LKR rose 0.08% to 153.460.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.20% at 95.59.
