Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Services, Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL), which rose 25.00% or 10.10 points to trade at 50.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Lake House Printers and Publishers PLC (CM:LPRT) unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 points to end at 134.50 and Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) was unchanged 0.00% or 0.000 points to 0.900 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL), which fell 24.88% or 372.60 points to trade at 1125.00 at the close. Equity Two PLC (CM:ETWO) declined 18.78% or 13.90 points to end at 60.10 and Kelani Valley Plantations PLC (CM:KVAL) was down 12.49% or 11.00 points to 77.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 89 to 87 and 60 ended unchanged.
Shares in Capital Alliance Finance PLC (CM:CAFL) rose to all time highs; gaining 25.00% or 10.10 to 50.50. Shares in Shalimar Estates (CM:SHAL) fell to 3-years lows; falling 24.88% or 372.60 to 1125.00.
Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.06% or 0.04 to $67.97 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.20% or 0.15 to hit $73.21 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.51% or 6.70 to trade at $1312.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.04% to 214.590, while USD/LKR rose 0.13% to 157.810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.31% at 92.30.
