Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Footwear & Textile, Power & Energy and Telecoms sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.08%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB), which rose 40.00% or 0.2000 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Meanwhile, Colombo Investment Trust PLC (CM:CIT) added 19.04% or 14.30 points to end at 89.40 and Ceylon and Foreign Trades PLC (CM:CFT) was up 12.07% or 0.70 points to 6.50 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI), which fell 12.73% or 89.10 points to trade at 611.00 at the close. Swarnamahal Financial Services PLC (CM:SWAR) declined 11.11% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and Udapussellawa Plantations PLC (CM:UDPL) was down 6.98% or 3.00 points to 40.00.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 93 to 47 and 54 ended unchanged.
Shares in Selinsing PLC (CM:SELI) fell to 5-year lows; losing 12.73% or 89.10 to 611.00.
Crude oil for February delivery was up 0.15% or 0.09 to $59.73 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March rose 0.14% or 0.09 to hit $66.08 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.24% or 3.10 to trade at $1294.50 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was up 0.98% to 206.280, while USD/LKR rose 0.70% to 153.490.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.22% at 92.46.
