Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Trading, Plantations and Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share rose 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were PC Pharma PLC (CM:PCPH), which rose 100.00% or 0.1000 points to trade at 0.2000 at the close. Meanwhile, Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM) added 25.00% or 0.100 points to end at 0.500 and Lanka Cement PLC (CM:LCEM) was up 20.00% or 1.10 points to 6.60 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Samson International PLC (CM:SIL), which fell 15.34% or 14.50 points to trade at 80.00 at the close. Nanda Investments and Finance PLC (CM:NAND) declined 11.76% or 4.80 points to end at 36.00 and Gestetner of Ceylon PLC (CM:GEST) was down 8.77% or 10.30 points to 107.10.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 118 to 77 and 51 ended unchanged.
Shares in Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) fell to 3-years lows; losing 15.34% or 14.50 to 80.00.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 0.14% or 0.07 to $51.63 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December unchanged 0.00% or 0.00 to hit $57.16 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.23% or 2.97 to trade at $1291.67 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.43% to 204.810, while USD/LKR fell 0.01% to 153.110.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.01% at 92.94.
