Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Information Technology, Footwear & Textile and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Hikkaduwa Beach Resort Ltd (CM:CITH), which rose 15.04% or 1.70 points to trade at 13.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Amana Takaful PLC (CM:ATL) added 14.29% or 0.100 points to end at 0.800 and PCH Holdings PLC (CM:PCHH) was up 14.29% or 0.100 points to 0.800 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Good Hope PLC (CM:GOOD), which fell 22.58% or 350.00 points to trade at 1200.00 at the close. Harischandra Mills PLC (CM:HARI) declined 14.73% or 198.80 points to end at 1151.20 and Associated Motor Finance Company PLC (CM:ASSO) was down 9.52% or 43.80 points to 416.10.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 77 to 77 and 60 ended unchanged.
Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.59% or 0.34 to $58.33 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 1.08% or 0.70 to hit $65.39 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.13% or 1.60 to trade at $1245.30 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.30% to 204.060, while USD/LKR fell 0.22% to 153.090.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 93.86.
