Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Motors, Investment Trust and Plantations sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share gained 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Sigiriya Village Hotels PLC (CM:SIGV), which rose 19.81% or 10.50 points to trade at 63.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Laxapana Batteries PLC (CM:LITE) added 13.73% or 1.40 points to end at 11.60 and Radiant Gems International PLC (CM:RGEM) was up 11.20% or 2.70 points to 26.80 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA), which fell 16.00% or 2.40 points to trade at 12.60 at the close. Lucky Lanka Milk Processing Company Ltd (CM:LLMP) declined 10.34% or 0.300 points to end at 2.600 and AIA Insurance Lanka PLC (CM:AVIV) was down 9.28% or 32.50 points to 317.90.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 91 to 71 and 57 ended unchanged.
Shares in Bogala Graphite Lanka PLC (CM:BOGA) fell to 52-week lows; falling 16.00% or 2.40 to 12.60.
Crude oil for March delivery was up 0.17% or 0.09 to $53.26 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in April fell 0.13% or 0.07 to hit $55.63 a barrel, while the April Gold Futures contract rose 0.16% or 1.85 to trade at $1192.95 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.06% to 188.335, while USD/LKR fell 0.08% to 150.280.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.07% at 100.49.
