Investing.com – Sri Lanka stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Diversified Holdings, Plantations and Motors sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Colombo, the CSE All-Share added 0.05%.
The best performers of the session on the CSE All-Share were Adam Investments Ltd (CM:ADAM), which rose 50.00% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.300 at the close. Meanwhile, SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) added 25.00% or 0.1000 points to end at 0.5000 and Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) was up 20.00% or 0.100 points to 0.600 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE), which fell 16.67% or 0.100 points to trade at 0.500 at the close. Samson International PLC (CM:SIL) declined 15.58% or 14.80 points to end at 80.20 and Singer Sri Lanka PLC (CM:SINS) was down 9.55% or 3.80 points to 36.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Colombo Stock Exchange by 86 to 65 and 68 ended unchanged.
Shares in Blue Diamonds Jewellery Worldwide PLC (CM:BLUE) fell to all time lows; down 16.67% or 0.100 to 0.500. Shares in SMB Leasing PLC (CM:SEMB) rose to 5-year lows; gaining 25.00% or 0.1000 to 0.5000. Shares in Tess Agro PLC (CM:TESS) rose to 5-year lows; gaining 20.00% or 0.100 to 0.600.
Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.20% or 0.14 to $69.03 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in October fell 0.24% or 0.18 to hit $74.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.05% or 0.60 to trade at $1218.90 a troy ounce.
GBP/LKR was down 0.47% to 206.060, while USD/LKR rose 0.11% to 159.940.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.09% at 95.09.
